Alwar Government Museum Travel Guide
The only place where you can get a glimpse of the opulence of the Rajput and Mughal kings is the collection housed inside the museum located within the City Palace. It was established in 1940 by Maharaja Tej Singh Prabhakar Bahadur. Divided into 3 sections, the museum includes 234 sculptures, 11 inscriptions, 9792 coins, arms and weapons and 1809 instruments. Section two is a must visit that contains Urdu, Arabic, Sanskrit and Persian manuscripts with miniature painting collection from Mughal and Rajput schools of painting that gives you an idea about the artistic skills of 18th and 19th century Tips: · Entry Fee: Rs. 5 per person
