Bhimtal is an ancient place named after the legendaryBhima of Mahabharata when Bhima visited the place during the exile periodof pandavas. Bhim tal is older than the town of Nainital and is consideredas one of the best excursions of Nainital. Bhim Tal is well connectedwith Kathgodam and all Kumaon regions and Nepal. It is an unsolved mysterybut this place might have been the part of the ancient silk route ofChina.
