Forest Research Institute (FRI) Travel Guide
Larger than the Buckingham Palace, the Forest Research Institute (FRI) is one of the oldest institutes in India specializing in the field of forest research. Being India’s leading and one of its kind institutes, the prime attraction is the perfect amalgamation of Greco-Roman and Colonial architectural styles used in the construction of the building. The FRI is also home to six huge halls basically the museum that displays art and artifacts based on Indian forestry. Highlights include beautiful animal, bird and plant paintings by Afshan Zaidi, exhibits on the medicinal uses of trees, and a cross-section of a 700-year-old deodar tree.
