India Gate Travel Guide

Located in the heart of New Delhi India Gate, an "Arc-de-Triomphe" like archway is one of the most popular monuments in the city. It commemorates the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I. The monument is now a major tourist attraction in Delhi and a common picnic site amongst the savvy travelers and the locals. After India got independence, another memorial Amar Jawan Jyoti – the eternal flame was added. At nightfall India Gate is dramatically floodlit while the fountains nearby make a lovely display with coloured lights thus making a beautiful sight to take in the eye captivating views.
