Kumbha Shyam Temple Travel Guide
This temple was built by Rana Kumbha in 1448 and is dedicated to the Varah (boar) incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The smaller temple in the compound is that of the famous devotee of Lord Krishna and the great devotional princess-poet, Meera Bai, Rana Sanga’s daughter-in-law and prince Bhojraj’s wife. This is built in north Indian style on a raised plinth with a conical roof and beautiful inner sanctum. An open colonnade around the sanctum has four small pavilions in each corner.
