If you are ever in Lucknow, then this is a place where you should definitely have a visit. Founded in the year 1921, this was previously known as something else. Thereafter, the place changed its name many times and now it the known as the Lucknow zoo. Initially from it establishment, the first name which was given to place was The Prince of Wales Zoological Gardens. After that, it became Lucknow Prani Udyan in the year 2011. Then it was named after Nawab Wazid Ali Shah.

The place now comprises of more than 1000 animals of around 100 different species. The place is a sheer attraction for each and every Lucknow visitors. In a year, the place claims about more than 2 lac visitors on an average.

If you are an animal lover then this is a place for you. There are a number of species which you can experience over here. It is said that the Lucknow zoo is the shelter for some of the most endangered species. Some of the most endangered species here are, Palm Civet Cat, Himalayan black bear, Asiatic Lion. Apart from these, you can also come across some of the most beautiful birds of India. White Peacock is the best thing which you can see, once you visit this place.
