Open Hand Travel Guide

Another significant monument planned and designed by Le Corbusier in Chandigarh is  Open Hand. The most visited tourist attraction in Chandigarh lures travelers from across the nation. Rising 85 feet high from a sunken trench, a giant metal hand in has been designed to rotate like a weathercock, not to show the incertitude of ideas, but to indicate symbolically the direction of the wind (that is the state of affairs). It also conveys a  message of peace "open to receive." Amongst the other monumental places to visit in Chandigarh are the Tower of Shadows, Geometric Hill, Rock Garden and Martyr's Memorial.
