Ranikhet Travel Guide

Ranikhet literally meaning “queen’s meadow” is a wonderful hill station, full of flora and fauna that offers you a panoramic view of Himalayan peaks. It is also the home of Kumaon regiment. It is believed that King Sudhardev won the heart of his Queen, Rani Padmini, who chose this area for her residence, giving it the name Ranikhet. One can have a great time exploring its beautiful orchards famous for delicious apples, peaches, plums and ancient temples like Jhoola devi ka mandir and Kali devi ka mandir.
