Tapkeshwar Temple Travel Guide

Sitting at the edge of the Tons Nadi River, the Tapkeshwar is a Temple inside a damp cave. Dehradun’s most ancient places of worship is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is also the site of the annual Maha Shivratri Fair. One of Dehradun’s most popular tourist destinations, the Tapkeshwar Temple is flocked by devotees who come to pay their respects to Lord Shiva. The temple derives its name from the dripping of the water from the roof of the cave. This water eventually disappears underground, only to reappear as a stream a few yards away from the temple. The Tapkeshwar Temple also has cool sulfur springs around its complex where pilgrims come to bathe.
