Joshimath – Govindghat – Ghangaria – Valley of Flowers – Badrinath
Valley of Flower – T.G. Longstaff and Frank Smythe discovered this enchanting place by chance in 1931. The local villagers of bhundar Valley knew it as “Nandankanan” since the time immemorial. They feared venturing into the valley because they believed spirits and fairies resided here.
But today, many travelers visit this famed world heritage site which is home to some of the rarest and precious flora and fauna. More than thousand varieties of flowers, ferns and Himalayan herbs grow in this place. The most beautiful of all Himalayan flowers, the blue Primula can be seen blooming here. The best time to see the valley in full bloom is from mid July to mid August. To reach the valley one has to trek from Govindghat, upto Ghangaria, 14 kms ahead. The valley is about 5 km from Ghangaria.
Detailed Itinerary (6 Days)
Day 1:
Morning Pick up from Haridwar / Rishikesh / Dehradun and drive 256 Kms to Joshimath. Dinner and overnight stay at Joshimath - Hotel Tattva or Similar
Day 2:
After early morning breakfast, 22 kms drive by bus to Govindghat, further 14 Kms trek to Ghangaria. Dinner and overnight stay at GMVN TRH Ghangaria.
Day 3:
After breakfast, 5 kms trek to Valley of Flower. Pls carry some snacks & water with you. In the afternoon trek 5 kms back to Ghangaria. Dinner and night stay at GMVN TRH Ghangaria.
Day 4:
After early morning breakfast, 14 kms trek to Govindghat. Further 22 kms drive to Badrinath. Evening Darshan & Aarti at Badrinath. Enjoy the beautiful town with Alaknanda river and two mountains "Nar & Narayan". Overnight stay in Hotel Snowcrest or similar at Badrinath
Day 5:
Early morning darshan & aarti at Badrinath temple. After breakfast, Visit to Mana village - Last village on India-China border and also has lot of historical significance from Mahabharat times. Drive back to Joshimath. Visit Auli by Ropeway. Dinner and overnight stay at Joshimath - Hotel Tattva or Similar
Day 6:
After breakfast, Drive back to Rishikesh. Arrival Rishikesh, tour concludes
