Piran Kaliyar Sharif Tourism
Over the centuries the great Indian culture has come to be renowned all over the globe for its religious and cultural accord. This feeling of harmony is the binding thread of India’s social patchwork. Piran Kaliyar, also known as Kaliyar Sharif, presents an apt instance of this. At Piran Kaliyar the Sufi saint Allauddin Ali Ahmad Sabir also known as Sabir Kaliyari lies in peace in his Dargaah. The 13th century priest was the successor of the great Sufi poet and saint Hazrat Baba Farid of the Chishti order. It takes not more than half an hour to reach Kaliyar village, to visit the Dargaah. The tomb of the saint was built by Ibrahim Lodhi, a ruler of Delhi. The structure typifies the Islamic architecture with its carved grillwork.
